Version 2.0

This is a major release for MWI Shipping, introducing multi-objective routing, a fully reworked polar and cargo configuration system, and deep improvements across routing, charts, and fleet management.

Key features

Multi-objective routing Request multiple route options simultaneously, each optimised for a different objective (e.g. fastest, most fuel-efficient, safest). Routes are grouped, color-coded, and presented side by side for easy comparison. You can rerun, duplicate, or delete individual routes within a group.

Cargo polar & routing configuration A dedicated polar management system for cargo vessels, with support for engine parameters, TWA/TWS limits, and search angle settings. Polars can be assigned per boat, with a fallback polar option for fleet-wide defaults. A new admin polars module lets you manage all polars from one place.

Route comparison table A detailed comparison table lets you evaluate multiple routes side by side across key metrics: duration, consumption, distance, RPM, and more.

Probabilistic charts Route performance charts now support probabilistic envelopes, combining deterministic forecasts with ensemble data for a clearer picture of expected conditions along the route.

RTZ waypoint import Waypoints can now be imported in RTZ format (replacing the previous ERZ format), improving compatibility with standard vessel navigation systems.

Routing comments in route details Automatically generated routing comments are now displayed in the route details panel, giving operators quick access to key conditions along the route.

Extended RTA horizon The Requested Time of Arrival window has been extended to +90 days, supporting long-haul voyage planning.

Improvements

  • Consumption is now displayed as accumulated consumption (total, not rate) for clearer operational reporting.
  • Route cards show consumption, maximum apparent wind, and sail information where relevant.
  • Route badges now include multi-objective icons for at-a-glance group identification.
  • Fleet and sailor views updated with route group support and improved loading logic.
  • Security hardened: Alpine base image, runtime injection of environment variables, and file uploads requiring auth and boat permissions.
  • Admin page now includes tools to delete boat positions by date and manage routing import/export.
  • Improved action menu positioning and routing sidebar responsiveness.

Bug fixes

  • Fixed prime meridian crossing display glitches on the map.
  • Fixed route group counter inflating incorrectly in the multi-objective sidebar.
  • Fixed waypoint action buttons on tablet and live subscription updates.
  • Fixed cargo routing state not persisting correctly after errors.
  • Fixed polar type switch being allowed when conflicting routings exist.
  • Fixed route renaming during computation causing state inconsistency.
  • Fixed admin page scrolling broken on Chrome v144.
  • Fixed env feature flags for proximity alerts, GPX export, and wind/wave models.
